Job Summary:

The Sr. Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all Distribution activity including the flow of material throughout the distribution center, while ensuring all safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met. Managing staff, taking responsibility for recruitment, retention, training, planning, assigning and directing work.

Primary Duties
  • Analyze team’s operational performance, identify opportunities, recommend solutions, and drive continuous improvement across distribution operations, using Lean methodology.
  • Plan, manage and execute monthly P&L forecast and performance review for the shift, including payroll costs, supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and motivate your team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals. 
  • Build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly personnel.
  • Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression, establish Individual Development & Performance Plans.
  • Coordinate process flow to ensure products are dispatched on time to meet on-line customer delivery promise.
  • Respond to changing situations relating to transportation and storage utilization issues through communication with internal and external sources to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts and network.
  • Support safety initiatives through participation in safety focus group, investigation of accidents, unsafe conditions.
  • Collaborate with training, human resources, and leadership to create a shared vision and identify process improvement opportunities. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The contributor frequently is required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 45 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen.  Noise level is usually moderate.

Education And/Or experience:

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in management, administration, supply chain/logistics, or 3+ years working experience in similar environment.
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience coaching individuals and teams.
