Job title:  

Maintenance Lead 

Reports to: 

Supervisor  

Job Summary: 

Leads contributors and performs a variety of maintenance duties for the entire facility 

Primary Duties (5-7 Key responsibilities) 

  • Ability to perform and fully understand all work within department 

  • Must demonstrate a high proficiency in at least one trade (i.e. Journeyman level HVAC, Plumbing, Electricity) 

  • Lead a team of Maintenance contributors in completing high-level projects such as office renovations and warehouse space planning projects 

  • Act as a mentor to junior level maintenance technicians and teach trade or aspects of trade) 

  • Work with outside contractors, either directly or indirectly, to complete specific projects. 

  • Assist department supervisor in the safe and efficient operation of the department, ensuring daily requirements are met or exceeded 

  • Operate motorized industrial equipment  

  • Participate and occasionally lead department meetings and projects  

  • Operate within standard operating procedures  

  • Maintain neat, clean and well-organized work area  

  • Performs as a mentor to all levels of maintenance technicians 

  • Oversees work of assigned maintenance team employees 

  • Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members 

  • Work with outside contractors, either directly or indirectly, to complete specific projects 

  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed 

  • Works with maintenance supervisor to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks 

  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience 

  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safely, effectively, and in a timely manner 

  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments 

  • Inspects work performed by the maintenance team members 

  • Tracks and ensure maintenance team members are logging time, materials, and other resources into the CMMS 

  • Works with maintenance supervisor to coordinate topics for safety meetings 

  • Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members 

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • The ability to read blueprints and/or electrical schematics 

  • The ability to operate the building’s Propane Distribution Manifold 

  • The ability to operate the building’s security and fire suppression systems 

  • The ability to use basic and complex power tools and instruments 

  • The ability to operate motorized lift trucks, fork trucks, pallet jacks and skid steers  

  • Strong communication, time management and organization 

  • A general knowledge of Microsoft OS (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) 

  • Safety shoes required  

  • Physical Requirement: Must be able to properly lift, pack, stack and wrap up 50 pounds on a regular basis 

  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to touch, grasp, handle and feel items. Noise level is usually moderate. Warehouse temperature may reach up to 90 degrees during the Summer months. 

Education And/Or experience: 

  • High School Diploma/GED  

  • Associate Degree in a related field  or 5 7+ years of relevant experience
