Quality Technician

The Quality Technician will conduct problem review, containment of parts, root cause determination, corrective action, and verification activities.  This individual will assist the site quality leadership in developing quality systems and implementing quality improvements.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES (5-7 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)

1.            Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP)

2.            Perform layered audits of work instructions at all work cells for process compliance

3.            Audit outgoing shipments for accuracy

4.            Perform inspection of products received as warranty/labor claims

5.            Participate and assist the team in the root cause process

6.            Review of incoming new materials for compliance to standards

7.            Lead nonconformances and material containment

8.            Aid in the certification and documenting of all test testing equipment

9.            Create inspection plans to support operations

10.          Seek and implement opportunities for poka-yoke in all processes

11.         Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•             Experience within a manufacturing environment and a good understanding of manufacturing processes

•             Working understanding of materials, manufacturing and inspection processes

•             Demonstration of excellent communication skills emphasizing direct dialogue

•             Self-motivated and detail oriented, willing to take initiative to learn new information

•             Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

•             Demonstration of computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with focus on Excel

•             Experience in cross-functional team environment

•             Working Knowledge of product qualification testing and inspection tools and equipment

•             Familiarity with automotive vehicle components and systems is preferred

•             Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and Access

•             Experience in cross-functional team environment

•             Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 20 pounds.

•             Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

•             Minimum 3-year experience in quality, operations or manufacturing role, associate degree preferred

•             Working experience within a light manufacturing or distribution environment.
