Dorman Products, a $1B global supplier of aftermarket automotive parts, is seeking an HR & Internal Communications Manager to join our growing team!  The HR & Internal Communications Manager plans, develops, and executes a multi-faceted internal communications program that reflects the Dorman Culture of Contribution and fosters an exceptional Contributor experience. Serves as the liaison and spokesperson for the Human Resources leadership team, providing collaborative guidance and advice on integrated communication strategies. Partners with Marketing and other key stakeholders to ensure cohesive communications strategies that support the Dorman Brand and Employer Value Proposition. Primary Duties

  • Facilitates engaging, timely, and empowering communications among Contributors, the Human Resource department, executive leadership, and potential applicants; drafts and/or distributes company emails, including company-wide and HR-specific communications, as well as other written and collateral materials.  
  • Proactively partners with the HR Leadership Team to develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies and campaigns for key initiatives such as Diversity & Inclusion, Contributor Engagement, Talent Acquisition, and Contributor Health & Wellness.
  • Manages Dorman’s local and national presence as an employer with special focus on social media; proactively supports the Dorman Employer Value Proposition and driving the attraction and retention of talent.
  • Owns the management and ongoing development of the internal Dorman Contributor Communications Portal; collaborates with Marketing and IT to ensure messaging and content are aligned with other organizational initiatives and/or external communications.
  • Conducts informational meetings, training sessions, and other communication forums with the HR Business Partners to explain and discuss best practices for the dissemination of key messages and initiatives across the various Contributors populations.
  • Leads the coordination, editing, and delivery of company-wide Town Halls and Leadership Calls
  • Leads Dorman’s annual giving campaign and all other company-wide charitable events
  • Manages the development, drafting, publication, and distribution of the Contributor handbook, policies, benefits guides, and other similar types of HR communication materials.
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent/appropriate across all mediums and for different audiences across the organization.  
  • Promotes and attends special events and functions; promotes and reports on Company achievements, recognition, and activities such as awards, community engagement, and new hire and promotion announcements; arranges for photography and/or press coverage for special events.
  • Dotted-line management responsibility for Contributor Experience Specialist


  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Human Resources or related field required
  • 3+ years of experience in an internal communications role required
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present in front of small and large groups of people
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Strong ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization. 
  • Team player who is proactive, motivated, innovative and results-oriented.
