Job Summary
The Distribution Closer Specialist performs a multitude of functions to insure the safe, accurate, and efficient fulfillment of customer orders for timely delivery.
Primary Duties
- Coordinates the distribution of work and maintains control of the product picking cycle to insure an efficient flow in the packing and shipping area of the Outbound Distribution Department.
- Develops work schedules and assigns work to Co-contributors
- Reviews order filling cycle times and makes changes to work assignments to meet daily shipping schedules.
- Coordinates daily activities of contributors engaged in order filling, and shipping.
- Reviews shipping requirements and coordinates the movement of completed customer orders.
- Makes improvement recommendations to Distribution Lead and Shift Supervisor on operating practices, record-keeping, and control systems.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment through execution of the 5 Star audits; promotes safety and quality through good housekeeping, mechanical compliance, and work place organization.
- Is engaged in continuous improvement; recommending improvement projects and participation in Lean events.
- Coaches and mentors Co- Contributors to achieve goals and department objectives
- Continuously looks for ways to improve current processes to achieve optimum results.
- Operate motorized industrial equipment such as sit-down fork truck, stock picker, as required.

Qualifications

- Ability to operate motorized industrial equipment

- Timely and regular attendance
- Familiarity of company product line
- Maintain accurate logs or other required documentation depending on the job task being performed
- Work in other departments and/or perform miscellaneous tasks as needed
- Rotate position / jobs as required
- Identify and document location discrepancies
- Follow procedures to ensure inventory is accurate and efficiencies are met
Qualifications:
- Excellent math abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail Oriented
- Good performance and safety records no active warnings in file
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds in proper manner
- Willing to work overtime as required
- Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Computer experience required
- Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 45 pounds.
- Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
