Job title:  Dayton Queue Master 

 

Reports to: Warehouse Manager 

 

Job Summary: 

This position is responsible for planning and scheduling the daily process flow operations of materials and production to support of Customer demands for all assortments. The Queue Master will ensure that certain key Customer order fill rates are managed to goal. Work with Materials, Production Operations, and Shipping Departments to generate and lead initiatives that will improve fill rates, inventory goals, service measures and reduce the length of time to service Customers. 

Primary Duties  

  • Communicate status of customer orders with Supply Chain Managers and determine availability dates for make to order items for assigned product lines and customers 

  • Ensure daily production plan is met by coordinating of tasks, assigning work priorities, verification and management of documentation associated to area. 

  • Determine appropriate work order quantity and frequency, for assigned product lines, ensuring fill rates and targeted inventory levels are achieved 

  • Identify and resolve daily issues that may affect customer, team or individual goals and objectives 

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.  Work with Product Team to achieve results 

  • Partner with Operations to better understand their needs and develop effective and efficient solutions 

  • Maintain item planning data in SAP 

  • Recognize bottlenecks and advise Supervisor of any concerns. 

  • Mentors and trains new hires on work procedure and processes. 

  • Ensure a good and healthy work environment through the compliance of procedures, company policies, operational and safety standards.  

  • Assist in small parcel department  

  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience in working within ERP systems is required 

  • Some level of manufacturing planning experience is a plus 

  • Proven experience in a large SKU, fast-paced environment 

  • Working knowledge of material planning principles  

  • Ability to initiate communication and action and to resolve issues both internally and externally in a professional manner 

  • Excellent math skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to challenge the status quo 

  • Apply situational leadership and assert ideas  

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and systems  

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow written/verbal instructions. 

  • Good PC skills including Windows, Microsoft Suite, Internet navigation and SAP

  • Ability to assist in projects for process improvement. 

  • Ability to follow and promote company policies and procedures. 

  • Good analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.  

  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 45 pounds.  

  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; bend; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach, push, pull and lift with hands and arms.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up 45 pounds.   

Education or experience: 

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
