Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing production and material handling equipment in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This includes supporting equipment for forging, heat treating, assembly processes, and warehouse operations. The role also involves upkeep of general facility infrastructure, including overhead doors, plumbing, lighting, and rooftop ventilation systems.
Primary Duties

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on equipment such as furnaces, punch presses, shears, conveyors, and fans.

Perform welding, plasma cutting, and acetylene torch cutting for equipment repairs and fabrication.

Disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble industrial equipment (e.g., shears, presses, conveyors).

Assist in equipment relocation and installation, including rigging, moving, and setting up electrical and air services.

Operate machine shop equipment (saws, drills, milling machines, lathes) and handheld tools (drills, saws, jacks, hoists).

Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, reach trucks, scissor lifts) to maintain, repair, and install equipment, including lighting and air lines at heights up to 25 feet.
Qualifications

Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with a focus on industrial equipment like presses, furnaces, and conveyors.

Strong experience with AC/DC drives, Allen Bradley PLCs, and personal computers for troubleshooting and control adjustments.

Capable of reading mechanical drawings and electrical/hydraulic schematics.

Machine shop skills and experience with welding/fabrication operations are necessary.

Familiarity with industrial electrical and control systems is essential.
Education / Experience
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical certifications or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
