Job Summary
This position will lead and continuously improve Dorman’s Sales, Operations, and Inventory Planning (SIOP) process with the critical objectives to consistently meet or exceed customer delivery expectations, and for driving sustainable improvements in forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and E&O costs.
Primary Duties
Create and lead an industry leading SIOP function to give Dorman Products an operational advantage in the Marketplace. Activities include.
- Develop and lead Dorman’s SIOP function. (People, Processes, Systems and Organizational Engagement)
- Facilitate monthly SIOP meetings with cross-functional teams to review and analyze demand and supply data, identify risks and opportunities, and develop action plans to effectively address them.
- Develop accurate demand forecasts based on order trends, POS data, market intelligence, customer date/insights, and Sales input.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to SIOP, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, customer fill rates, revenue attainment, and OTD.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve SIOP processes and systems.
Qualifications
- Experience leading successful SIOP implementations.
- Proven track record of driving major improvements in SIOP processes that yield significant sustainable improvements in customer delivery performance and inventory turnover.
- Advanced knowledge of SIOP processes, principles, and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of advanced planning systems (Kinaxis, John Galt, Logility, SAP, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and with stakeholders at all levels.
Education / Experience
- BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years SIOP experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in a high SKU count business serving large US retailers.
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is preferred.
