Sr. Director - Customer Marketing

The Customer Marketing Director is a senior business leader that will drive the development and deployment of our customer marketing strategy in both the light and heavy-duty channels.  The customer marketing director is responsible for plans that support our sales organization in gaining distribution (B2B) and drive demand for our products among automotive part installers (B2C).  This includes content marketing, marketing campaign development, promotions, digital content syndication, and support of our training programs.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Working with the VP of Marketing to develop the customer marketing strategy
  • Serve as a liaison between the Dorman Sales, Product, and Marketing teams in developing best-in-class programming with key customers in support of our core categories and innovation
  • Partner with the Events & Training team to build channel partnerships and deliver customized training programs to distributor teams and technicians
  • Work with the Marketing Content & Marketing Communications teams to develop campaigns that drive awareness of and preference for the Dorman brand
  • Work with Sales to implement sales activation programs to support major initiatives: brochures, new product announcements, promotions, and more
  • Evaluate ROI for account-based and segment-based plans, supporting initiatives with a high level of return

Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated success in leading B2B and B2C marketing initiatives, preferably with large customers and an indirect base of end users
  • Clear track record of omni-channel marketing leadership including digital, print, and in-store
  • Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically with a strong tendency towards analytics
  • Prior success driving revenue and new product demand with innovative channel marketing
  • Experience working with field sales teams and delivering customer presentations
  • Strong experience managing large teams and setting clear direction
  • Outstanding communication and relationship building skills. Must be able to influence and persuade senior executives, provide clear project guidance to stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 20 pounds.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or a related field required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in a management role, holding progressively responsible positions in Brand, Channel and/or Product Marketing in mid to large size companies.
