Quality Assurance Lead

The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for the overall quality of all functional and/or technical solutions produced by the IT team. The successful individual must be able to lead multiple testing efforts across differing technical domains, business units, and technologies, all while adhering to industry and organizational standards.  At this level, the expectation is for the individual to drive small teams to deliver on all testing activities for a particular solution.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Develop comprehensive Test Plans & Strategies on multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities
  • Oversee and Lead testing efforts, ensuring team is following defined plan and strategies.
  • Identify and assign correct team to execute test activities on a particular project, factoring in the right skillsets and backgrounds
  • Perform test execution activities where appropriate.
  • Maintain and enforce Quality Assurance policies, procedures, standards, methods, and tools.
  • Work with other leads to define and continuously improve Dorman’s SDLC and testing methods/tools.
  • Provide a testing roadmap which includes an overview of testing goals for the year.
  • Define and implement overall “non-prod” environment standards required to support project and/or organizational goals.
  • Determine automation feasibility of new and existing systems.
  • Design and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Onboard and train new testing resources as needed.
  • Mentor junior QA Analysts
  • Provide Tier 3 production support for systems within area of expertise.
  • Ensure all changes to Dorman’s production landscape are properly tested prior to their release to production.

 

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Experience defining strategy and leading teams within the Business Intelligence space, including technologies such as SLT, BODS, SSIS, SAP HANA, BW, SQL Server, SAP Business Objects, and Qlik
  • Working knowledge of web and cloud technologies, such as Azure, API’s, .NET, Java
  • Knowledge of complex ERP systems, such as SAP
  • Experience identifying and reporting on important QA KPI’s to upper management
  • Proficient with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Understanding of performance and load testing tools
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Java, C#, Ruby, Python)
  • Advanced understanding of software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps)
  • Experience working in a continuous integration (CI) environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional teamwork – cooperating, sharing knowledge, and collaborating effectively to achieve the objectives and target dates for a given initiative.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new material, tools and concepts quickly

 

Education/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline; or 3-4 years equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance / software testing within a complex IT landscape
  • 2-3 years of experience leading QA strategy
