Dorman Products, a nearly $2B global supplier of aftermarket motor vehicle parts with 3,500+ Contributors and 28 sites across the globe is currently seeking an IT Project Manager to join our team. The IT Project Manager will lead important technology projects for departments across the entire company.  Great candidates can manage cross functional, complex IT projects across a variety of business functions and application platforms.  This role includes direct interaction with a broad range of senior leaders, technical managers, and subject matter experts. Projects range from fully integrated system changes to organizational initiatives with technology components. With a focus on user-experience, this position communicates with key stakeholders to ensure that projects solve business problems.  The ideal candidate for this position can manage projects using traditional waterfall or agile project management methodologies.  Depending upon the project scope, the candidate may help to define current business processes that drive related system requirements. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to come onsite to our corporate headquarters in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA) as needed, roughly once a week.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Provide project leadership, management, and oversight throughout the phases of Dorman’s solution delivery methodology (SDM): Plan, Analyze, Design, Build, Test, Deploy
  • Facilitate fact finding sessions with key business and IT staff to assess as-is capabilities, perform root cause analysis, define solution requirements, perform feasibility analyses, and define high-level solution alternatives and approaches  
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation (including business process, organization, and IT solution components)
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently allocate and manage resources to ensure project goals are met, while keeping a keen eye on cost control.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing concerns.
  • Customer Communication Planning: communications plans to ensure solution adoption pre-, during-, and post-implementation 
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet high-quality standards and align with business requirements.
  • Change Management: Oversee change management processes to facilitate the adoption of new technologies or processes within the organization.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and report financial status to senior management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and best practices in project management to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Competencies:

  • Proven project management skills and significant exposure to sound project management and system implementation methodologies and practices.  
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to translate complex information into comprehensive and concise business terms.  
  • Demonstrated collaboration and relationship building at all levels of a company. 
  • Ability to think strategically and analyze trends, situations, and industry specific data to identify business and technical solution opportunities  
  • Ability to multitask and deliver on several simultaneous initiatives  
  • Self-motivated, independent contributor with the ability to learn new business areas, tools and concepts quickly.    

 

Qualifications / Experience / Education:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience 
  • Experience managing matrixed project teams with onshore/offshore resource model.
  • Held previous business analysis and project management positions in a consumer products, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • PMI certification desired but not required.
  • Experience running or working in a PMO
  • Background in larger enterprise IT solutions including SAP, Hyperion, Salesforce.com, SuccessFactors,
  • Qlik, Business Objects is a plus but not required.
