Dorman Products, a $1B global supplier of aftermarket automotive parts, is seeking an Electronics Project Engineer II to join our growing team! An Electronics Project Engineer II for Dorman is responsible for development of new products and improvement projects in the Advanced Electronics category. Primary Duties

  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Conduct product validation and testing, including execution of on-vehicle testing plans.  
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to source and develop new components.
  • Assist Project Management in developing project objectives and plans by providing input specific to product/process design requirements, project elements, and project scheduling.
  • Develop and document manufacturing procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties that may be outside of assigned priorities.



  • Experience with electronics design, manufacturing, and testing procedures.
  • Experience with circuit design software.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics. 
  • Technical Documentation Skills.
  • Experienced with the use of power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience in cross-functional team.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive electrical systems and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Access.
  • Experience with facility inventory control system(s) -SAP, AS/400 (CMS), etc.


Education and/or Experience

  • BS degree in a related technical field with 2+ years of experience.
  • Or Associates degree in a related technical field with 5+ years of experience.
