Dorman is currently seeking a Director, FP&A, to join our growing team in our suburban Philadelphia headquarters in Colmar, PA. This role will be a critical leader in the Dorman Light Duty Finance team owning financial planning, reporting, and analysis. In addition, this role will provide business support and insight to the Light Duty Operations leadership team and will be responsible for the financial analysis, decision support, forecasting, and accounting for the Light Duty Operations teams including multiple warehousing, distribution, and remanufacturing sites. The role reports to the VP of Finance – Light Duty, has one direct report and will work closely with Corporate Leadership and FP&A Teams. The expectation for the candidate is the ability to grow into larger roles in the future. This is a hybrid role, with the ability to come onsite as needed, anywhere from 2 to 5 days a week.    

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:
•    Leads the annual budget and quarterly forecast process for the Dorman Light Duty Segment
•    Supports the month-end closing process by reviewing and understanding variances to PY, Budget and Forecast, and effectively communicates monthly results.
•    Provides ad hoc analysis to support business requests to aide in decision making. 
•    Enhances and supplements to the existing reporting process leveraging Hyperion, Business Objects and Qlik
•    Develops and publishes weekly KPI’s to the Light Duty business leaders, as well as partnering with Light Duty Operations leadership to establish and monitor financial and operations KPI’s and metrics within Operations.
•    In collaboration with functional leaders identify opportunities to improve productivity, track progress and report results on key initiatives and projects.
•    Drive improvement in supplier-related components of working capital in areas such as defect recoveries, excess and obsolete inventory, and scrap
•    Develop quarterly forecasts, annual budgets for Dorman’s cost of sales and all operational expenses.
•    Analyze and report monthly results including productivity, inflation/deflation and variance to budget/forecast/prior year.
•    Lead the Operations team responsible for Light-Duty inventory, distribution and remanufacturing activities, and cost accounting.
•    Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the distribution and remanufacturing processes and cost accounting structure to be able to analyze and discuss all elements of the processes to identify and implement control and process improvements.
•    Oversee the development of standard costs and ensure the accuracy and reliability of standard cost and inventory valuation systems and procedures, including excess and obsolete inventory reserves.
•    Proactively develop and/or improve Operational Accounting processes and reporting capabilities.
•    Supervise the month-end closing process related to operations for timely and accurate reporting which includes explanations for actual versus prior year and budget variances.
•    Ensure the accuracy of Light Duty’s inventories including the adequacy of physical count procedures and reliability of reported cycle count and physical inventory results.
•    Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and procedures.
•    Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for areas of responsibility.
•    Work with the independent auditors to ensure that audits are completed in timely manner.
•    Provide leadership, coaching, direction and growth opportunities to your team, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the Company's established policies.
•    Supports Investor relations and other Dorman Corporate activities including Quarterly Board of Directors reporting as well as External reporting.
•    Lead the Capital Expenditure Authorization process for the Light Duty Operating Segment
•    Provide strategic guidance on how to integrate future acquisitions in financial areas such as ERP system, accounting policy adoption, inventory valuation and costing, KPI reporting, and financial close.
•    Establishes functional objectives for areas of responsibility.
•    Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Excellent Microsoft Office skills especially excel
•    Familiarity with Hyperion and/or SAP or similar systems required
•    Excellent project management skills
•    Integrity and detail-oriented
•    Strong leadership skills
•    Experience in Manufacturing/Distribution including Standard Costing
•    Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley preferred.

 

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
•    MBA and/or CPA preferred
•    8+ years of progressive finance and accounting roles including FP&A
