The Accounting Manager will manage the general ledger and financial close processes, improve accounting processes, and maintain accounting policies and procedures in a fast paced and aggressively-growing public company.  The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for a team of 3 accounting staff and work cross-functionally across the organization.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Oversight and coordination of the monthly close process, including:

    • Period end activities in SAP and other ERP systems

    • Prepare/review account reconciliations and journal entries

    • Maintain intercompany billing and accounts

    • Prepare/review the global consolidation and related journal entries

    • Coordinate monthly reporting and general ledger analysis, review againt budget and previous actuals

    • Perform financial closing activities in a timely and accurate manner in accodrance with corporate policies

  • Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC financial reporting

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the general accounting department

  • Participate in the fixed asset capitalization and reporting processes for US GAAP and tax

  • Support the department's development, testing and usage of key financial systems, including the enterprise resource planning system (SAP)

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial policies and procedures are followed throughout the organization

  • Identify opportunities for improvements to business processes and participate in cross-functional process improvement projects

  • Assist in the development, maintenance and improvement of accounting policies, memos and position papers

  • Ensure department activities are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and the company's established COSO 2013 framework

  • Manage interaction with external and internal auditors as it related to quarterly reviews, annual audits and periodic controls reviews

  • Manage accounting staff including recruiting, leading, developing, training, mentoring, performance reviews and duty prioritization in accordance with company policies

  • Assist with special projects as assigned, including, but not limited to, acquisition diligence/integration, new accounting standards implementations, technical accounting research, technology upgrades and ad-hoc reporting requests



  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA or CMA certification preferred

  • 3-5 years corporate accounting along with 2-3 years of public accounting experience or 5-8 years of corporate accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP

  • Previous experience mentoring and growing staff

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly cross functionally

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner with and maintain relationships both internally and externally

  • Previous accounting systems experience, preferably SAP or similar large ERP, QuickBooks, Blackline, Hyperion or other consolidation tool

  • Intermediate to advance proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
