Job Summary

Hands on general routine maintenance, repairs, and service functions for the facility and its equipment; and be able to work flexible schedules as needed to complete PMs or projects during off shifts. 

Primary Duties

Hands on general routine maintenance, repairs, and service functions for the facility and its equipment; and be able to work flexible schedules as needed to complete PMs or projects during off shifts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned

Perform a variety of general maintenance and service functions including installations and repairs of facility equipment.  Demonstrate general knowledge of PPE, Ergonomics, LOTO, Hazardous Material Recycling Programs, safe Power tool operating practices, and safe PIT equipment operating skills.  Execute preventative maintenance programs while minimizing production and maintenance downtime.  Effectively communicate, verbally and through email, with Department Lead to minimize problems associated with Maintenance activities.  Help advise on maintenance improvements, building improvements, and other facility projects.

Qualifications

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Participate in department meetings and projects  
  • Operate within standard operating procedures  
  • Maintain neat, clean and well-organized work area  
  • Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines  
  • Timely and regular attendance  

Leader Responsibilities            

This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, but if those are unavailable, they are responsible for ensuring all contributors are working on their designated tasks and offer support/shifting labor to cover when others are out.  Must be able to work with limited Supervision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; bend; climb; use hands to finger, talk and hear for up to 12 hours. The employee is regularly required to reach, push, pull and regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory.  The requirements listed below are a representation of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operator manuals, and maintenance instructions.  Must demonstrate clear verbal communication and legible handwriting. Must be able to perform electrical maintenance and fixes for voltage’s 110v to 480v

Be proficient in reading basic mechanical and/or electrical schematic drawings, sketches, manuals, and written or oral instructions.  Strong understanding of machine diagnostics, along with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts related to Production equipment and material handling equipment.

Education / Experience

High School or equivalent and Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field

Journeyman in Related Field / 5 - 10 Year on the job Experience in Related Fields
