The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees daily shipping, receiving, and material handing operations. The role ensures the accurate, timely, and safe movement of goods while supervising staff, maintaining inventory integrity, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Primary Duties

· Oversee and coordinate the shipping and receiving processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

· Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage.

· Ensure shipments are properly labeled, packaged, documented, and traceable.

· Process receivers, bills of lading, work orders, and shipping documents.

· Work with freight carriers to obtain quotes and schedule outgoing shipments.

· Oversee packaging and processing of small-parcel carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.).

· Supervise, train, and coach shipping/receiving team members on procedures, safety, and productivity expectations.

· Maintain inventory accuracy by monitoring stock movement and reconciling discrep

· Generate reports on shipments, load counts, and inventory as needed.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, company policies, and industry regulations

· Maintain a clean and safe working environment, enforcing use of PPE and equipment procedures.

· Implement and support safety initiatives, quality control, and process improvement efforts.

Education / Experience

· Excellent organizational and communication skills.

· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability

· Ability to lead and motivate a team.

· Ability to make independent decisions, be a self-starter are critical.

· Experience in a shipping department is preferred.

· Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
