Job Summary
Dorman Canada is seeking an experienced and dynamic sales leader to serve as our Regional Sales Director. This high‑impact role oversees a multi‑layered sales organization—including Zone Managers (ZMs), Area Sales Managers (ASMs), and Area Sales Representatives (ASRs)—with responsibility for driving growth, strengthening customer partnerships, and executing Dorman’s traditional‑channel strategy across the region. This role is based in Canada and must be located within an hour of a major airport to accommodate the travel requirements.
What You Will Lead:
- A team of Zone Managers and Area Sales Managers responsible for direct sales to mid‑sized traditional customers
- A team of Area Sales Representatives delivering omni‑channel pull‑through support across all Dorman customers
- Regional sales strategy execution to achieve revenue, penetration, and profitability targets
- Customer relationship development with key accounts and strategic partners
- Cross‑functional collaboration with marketing, category management, operations, and national accounts
- Performance management and coaching to build a high‑performing, accountable sales culture
Primary Duties
- Lead, mentor, and develop ZMs, ASMs, and ASRs to ensure consistent execution and strong market coverage
- Drive sales growth within the traditional channel through disciplined planning and territory management
- Support customer engagement initiatives, joint business planning, and field‑level execution
- Maximize sales and profitability with mid-sized traditional accounts and coordinate omni-channel support within the assigned geography.
- Onboarding contributors and developing these contributors for future opportunities within Dorman.
- Maintain relationships and a presence with the top assigned customers and attend major customer and industry events.
- Familiar with data analysis and fact-based selling techniques to deploy throughout their team to optimize customer inventories and identify opportunities.
- Excellent organizational skills to coordinate event representation, changeovers, technical training, store/technician visits, complaint resolution, promotional awareness, and more across a large geography.
- Ability to collaborate with others to leverage and maintain customer relationships.
- Communicate any opportunities or threats in addition to new product ideas and normal reporting activity.

Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the traditional automotive aftermarket
- Ability to build relationships with customers at all levels

- Self-starter that thrives in a remote office environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing multi‑level sales teams
- Demonstrated success in transforming teams and directly managing people.
- Able to develop and create synergy with direct reports.
Travel Requirement:
- Ability to travel 40% or more of the time, including weekend travel.
- Willingness to relocate in 3-5 years to support personal growth and development.
Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, automotive technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of applicable sales experience
- Minimum of 5 years of managing a team of direct reports
