Job Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all quality assurance and quality control functions within product development, manufacturing, and distribution. This role ensures product and process compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations. The Quality Manager serves as the key liaison between operations and the leadership team, driving continuous improvement, managing quality systems, and supporting strategic quality initiatives across the organization. Must be able to perform and respond in an extremely fast paced, flexible, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.

Primary Duties

Strategic Leadership

  • Implement business unit-wide quality initiatives, policies, and best practices.
  • Support leadership reviews, reporting, and data analytics for quality performance across the business. Develop visualization dashboards which provide critical data and information on quality to end users.
  • Participate in cross-plant quality forums and benchmarking efforts to improve standardization and process alignment.
  • Support new product launches and engineering changes, ensuring quality requirements are integrated from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams to address supplier performance issues and support supplier development.
  • Manage customer complaints, warranty analysis, and field-return investigations.

Operational Quality

  • Oversee day‑to‑day manufacturing and distribution quality operations, including incoming inspection, in‑process quality checks, and final product audit.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA/CAPA) using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone.
  • Manage Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, audits, and control plans.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, and quality inspection standards.
  • Coordinate containment activities and manage nonconforming material processes.
  • Provide training and coaching for operators, technicians, and engineers on quality processes and standards.
  • Maintain and improve quality KPIs such as defect rate, warranty, scrap, rework, and first-pass yield.

Team Development

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing quality team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Regularly provide coaching, development, and performance feedback.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership capability and experience working cross-functionally.
  • Excellent communication, customer interaction, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with quality software systems, measurement tools, and data analysis.
  • Advanced computer skills – particularly Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail oriented, highly organized with exceptional time management skills
  • Strong written and oral communications skills

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in automotive or automotive aftermarket quality management.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and standard quality tools.
  • Certification such as CQE, CSSBB, or similar is a plus.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $104,300.00 to $130,300.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
