Job Summary

The Material Handler Class II plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within our operations. This full-time position involves managing, organizing, and transporting materials to support production processes. The ideal individual will have a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.

**This role would require use of multiple pieces of powered lifting equipment, some of which can go up to 75 feet in the air.**

Primary Duties

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Sort, label, and distribute materials to designated storage or production areas using appropriate handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies promptly to supervisors.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment following safety protocols and company policies.
  • Assist with loading and unloading shipments efficiently and safely to support timely production schedules.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to forecast material needs and ensure continuous supply.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storage and handling areas, adhering to workplace safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs to ensure operational safety.
  • Participate in training and safety programs to improve knowledge and skills relevant to material handling functions.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in material handling or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and other common material handling equipment; certification is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills combined with attention to detail for inventory management.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures rigorously and promote a safety-first culture in the workplace.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and management.
  • Physical stamina and strength to safely handle materials and perform lifting tasks as required.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting purposes.

Education / Experience

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in warehouse or material handling roles is highly preferred. Certification in forklift operation or related equipment is advantageous. On-the-job training will be provided to ensure compliance with company standards and safety practices.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
