Job Summary
Join our team as a Material Handler Class I, where you will play a vital role in the efficient movement and management of materials within our facility. This position involves the safe operation of motorized industrial equipment to support loading, unloading, and inventory replenishment tasks critical to our supply chain success. You will work collaboratively to ensure materials are handled accurately and on time, contributing to a productive and safe workplace environment.
Primary Duties
- Operate a range of motorized industrial equipment, including sit-down forklifts, stock pickers, and reach trucks, to move, load, and unload products safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
- Conduct thorough pre-operation safety inspections and daily equipment checks to ensure all machinery meets company standards and compliance guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain operational consistency and high-quality safety performance at all times.
- Utilize handheld and truck-mounted radio frequency (RF) scanners for accurate inventory tracking, picking, and product put-away tasks, ensuring data integrity within our warehouse management systems.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risk and promote a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Maintain precise logs and documentation related to equipment usage, maintenance, and material handling activities as required, supporting audit and quality assurance processes.
- Carry out work order instructions meticulously to complete assignments across different areas of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and distribution zones.
- Collaborate with safety and operations teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and participate actively in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Take initiative in performing other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting overall operational goals.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete the motorized industrial equipment certification test and obtain the necessary operator license, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Flexibility to rotate through various positions or job functions within the department to gain comprehensive operational understanding and support dynamic business needs.
- Engagement in departmental meetings and ongoing projects that drive continuous improvement, safety enhancement, and operational efficiency.
- Commitment to upholding safety, accuracy, productivity, and housekeeping standards to foster a clean, organized, and hazard-free workplace.
- Strong capacity to comprehend and execute both verbal and written instructions with precision, enabling seamless teamwork and task completion.
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient mathematical skills to accurately perform measurements, counts, and inventory reconciliations as part of daily job functions.
- Consistent and punctual attendance with a willingness to undertake overtime assignments when operational demands require, reflecting dedication and reliability.
- Physical capability to safely lift and maneuver items weighing up to 45 pounds, ensuring proper ergonomics and injury prevention techniques are followed.
- Comfortable working in conditions that may require reaching, swiveling, transporting materials between buildings, and effective communication in a moderately noisy environment.

Education / Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Alternatively, one to three months of relevant work experience and/or training in a warehouse, distribution, or material handling role may be acceptable.

The US base rate for this full-time position is . The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
