Job Summary

Join our team as a Material Handler Class I, where you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our warehouse and distribution center. This position involves operating motorized industrial equipment to manage inventory, facilitate the loading and unloading of trucks, and support the seamless flow of materials throughout the facility. Your contributions will be essential to maintaining our high standards of accuracy and safety. Experience with powered lifting equipment and no fear of heights is a PLUS.

Primary Duties

  • Operate a range of motorized industrial equipment including sit-down fork trucks, stock pickers, and reach trucks safely and proficiently, adhering strictly to company protocols and operational procedures.
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance checks of all equipment prior to use to ensure safety compliance and operational reliability.
  • Utilize hand-held or truck-mounted radio frequency (RF) scanners to accurately track inventory movement, verify stock locations, and maintain up-to-date records of goods within the warehouse system.
  • Follow precise work order instructions to complete picking, put-away, replenishment, and loading/discharge tasks across the facility.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs or documentation reflecting completed tasks, equipment usage, and any discrepancies observed during operations.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements to foster a safe and hazard-free working environment for all team members.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to support continuous improvement initiatives, assist with inventory audits, and participate in regular team meetings.
  • Manage occasional additional duties as assigned, contributing flexibly to the evolving needs of warehouse operations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully pass the motorized industrial equipment certification test and obtain the necessary operational license as required by company and regulatory standards.
  • Willingness and versatility to rotate through different positions and tasks within the department to support operational efficiency and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Commitment to participating actively in departmental meetings and collaborative projects aimed at enhancing productivity, safety, and workplace culture.
  • Ability to consistently meet and exceed safety protocols, accuracy benchmarks, productivity targets, and maintain exemplary workplace housekeeping standards.
  • Strong capability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions with high attention to detail while working independently or as part of a team.
  • Good mathematical skills to assist in inventory tracking, order verification, and related calculations necessary to support warehouse functions.
  • Dependable attendance with flexibility to work overtime as needed in response to operational demands, demonstrating reliability and dedication.
  • Physical aptitude and stamina to lift and carry materials up to 45 pounds, perform repetitive movements such as reaching and swiveling, and navigate between different facility areas throughout the workday.
  • Capacity to effectively communicate and actively listen in a moderately noisy environment, ensuring safety and clear understanding during all operational tasks.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate preferred.
  • One to three months of relevant experience or training in material handling, warehouse operations, or related fields is desirable.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered to welcome diverse candidates with relevant competencies.

The US base rate for this full-time position is . The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
