Job Summary
As a Maintenance Technician I, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our facility. Your hands-on expertise in routine maintenance, equipment repairs, and service functions is essential to maintaining an efficient and safe work environment. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to execute preventive maintenance work and project tasks, including during off-shift hours, to minimize downtime and support continuous production activities.
This is a 3rd shift role and will be eligible for a $2.00 Differential.
Base Pay is $20.60/ hr.
Primary Duties
- Carry out a broad range of general maintenance tasks including installation, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment and systems to uphold operational efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols by demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and application of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, ergonomics practices, and proper handling of hazardous materials in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs that proactively address wear and potential malfunctions, aiming to minimize both production interruptions and maintenance-related downtime.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with the Department Lead and other team members regarding maintenance activities, challenges, and status updates to foster effective coordination and swift resolution of issues.
- Provide expert advice on proposed maintenance enhancements, building infrastructure improvements, and other facility-related projects, contributing ideas that improve safety, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform specialized tasks such as battery changing for equipment, responding promptly to machine breakdowns, and delivering tier 2 technical support where required.
- Conduct routine electrical repairs in office settings to maintain safe and functional workspaces.
- Serve as a back-up custodian when needed, supporting cleanliness and organization of the facility.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) safely and competently, ensuring adherence to equipment lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance activities.
- Utilize the floor scrubber and undertake painting projects within office and warehouse areas, promoting a safe and attractive environment for all personnel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to supporting overall facility operations.
Qualifications

- Follow established standard operating procedures to ensure compliance, safety, and quality in all maintenance tasks and responsibilities.
- Maintain a tidy, well-organized, and professional work area to promote safety, efficiency, and easy access to tools and materials.
- Strictly adhere to all safety standards, policies, and utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Demonstrate reliability through punctual and consistent attendance, ensuring dependable support for maintenance operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Willingness and flexibility to fulfill multiple roles including full-time battery changer, maintenance support responsibilities, part-time custodial duties, and operation of cleaning equipment like floor scrubbers.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety regulations, operator manuals, and detailed maintenance instructions accurately.
- Exhibit clear and effective verbal communication skills and legible handwriting for efficient documentation and coordination.
- Demonstrated understanding of PPE use and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) practices to ensure personal and team safety during maintenance activities.
- Physical capability to perform required manual tasks, including lifting up to 45 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and climbing, often for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
- Ability to operate power tools, industrial equipment, and handle hazardous materials responsibly under all working conditions.
Education / Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in a related technical field is preferred.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or 2 to 3 years of on-the-job experience in relevant maintenance and technical fields.
Experience and knowledge in areas such as Electrical Systems, Lighting, Plumbing, Welding, HVAC, Dry Wall Repair, Painting, Battery Handling, Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Equipment Repair, Yard Driving, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics will be advantageous.
