Job Summary

Join our team as a Manufacturing Operator II, where you will play a vital role in the production process within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing operations while enhancing your skills in a collaborative and ever changing workplace. THIS IS A HEAVY DUTY MANUFACTURING SITE, please be advised that all contributors will be handling steel and working in high heat environments.

These are 2nd and 3rd shift positions (+$1.00 shift differential)

Primary Duties

  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production according to established schedules and quality standards.
  • Perform routine inspections and quality checks to identify any deviations or malfunctions and report them promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and supervisors to maintain smooth workflow and address any production challenges.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Document production activities, including quantities produced, timesheets, and any incidents or irregularities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment as required to minimize downtime and extend operational life.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new operators as needed to promote skill development within the team.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with hands-on operation of production machinery.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical documents, and standard operating procedures accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and address production issues.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse groups within the production floor.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and handling materials safely.

Education / Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required. Previous experience in manufacturing settings or specialized technical training related to manufacturing operations is highly valued and may be considered in lieu of formal education. Ongoing professional development and certifications in manufacturing practices or equipment operation are advantageous.
