Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing production and material handling equipment that supports forging, heat treat, and assembly operations in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility and warehouse environment. This role also provides maintenance support for facility systems including overhead doors, plumbing, lighting, and rooftop ventilation/exhaust equipment.
This position requires an experienced industrial maintenance professional who can work independently and collaboratively to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational uptime.
Primary Duties
Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on furnaces, presses, shears, conveyors, fans, and other industrial equipment.

Work with AC & DC drives, Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and personal computers to monitor and repair equipment.

Disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble various types of equipment, including shears, presses, and conveyors.
Fabrication & Welding (as needed)

Perform welding, plasma cutting, or acetylene torch cutting for equipment repairs, fabrication of new components, or process improvement projects.
Installation & Relocation of Equipment

Assist with moving, rigging, and installing new or existing equipment.

Run electrical and compressed air lines overhead to support equipment installation and relocation.
Machine Shop & Tool Operation

Operate machine shop equipment, including saws, drills, milling machines, and lathes.

Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, hammer drills, saws, hydraulic jacks, and “come-along” hoists.

Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, reach trucks, and scissor lifts) to perform maintenance at heights up to 25 feet, including work on lighting and air lines.
Qualifications
Experience with basic machine shop operations and fabrication welding is beneficial, but not required.

Education / Experience
Candidates should have proven experience in industrial maintenance within a heavy manufacturing environment, with the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems (including AC/DC drives and Allen Bradley PLCs), as well as proficiency with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment. The work is physically demanding and requires frequent lifting (up to 75 lbs), working at heights up to 25 feet, climbing, bending, reaching overhead, and operating equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and machine shop tools. Strong hand-eye coordination, good vision, and the ability to work safely in hot, noisy, and occasionally dusty or oily industrial conditions are essential.
The US base rate for this full-time position is 27.5. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
