Job Summary
Maintain, repair and install production and material handling equipment that supports the forging, heat treat and assembly processes in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility and warehouse. In addition, this position requires supporting the manufacturing facility for such items as overhead doors, plumbing, lighting and roof top ventilation / exhaust equipment.
This position requires an individual experienced in industrial maintenance who is capable of reading mechanical drawings and electrical / hydraulic schematics. Must possess skills necessary to trouble shoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on furnaces, punch presses, shears and various other equipment. Experience on AC & DC drives, Allen Bradley programmable controllers and personal computers is necessary. Must have some machine shop skills and be able to perform repairs and fabrication welding operations.
Primary Duties
- Trouble shoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on furnaces, presses, shears, conveyors, fans and various other equipment.
- Perform welding, plasma cutting or acetylene torch cutting to make repairs to equipment, in the fabrication of new equipment or as part of projects to improve existing systems and processes.
- Disassemble, rebuild and re-assemble various types of equipment including shears, presses and conveyors.
- Assist in the relocation of equipment and the installation of new equipment including rigging and moving of equipment as well as running electrical and air service overhead to the location.
- Operate equipment in the machine shop including saws, drills, milling machines and lathes.
- Operate hand held equipment including various drills, hammer drills, saws and hydraulic jacks and “come along” type hoists.
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, reach trucks and scissor lift to maintain, repair and install equipment including lighting and air lines at 25 foot ceiling heights.
Qualifications
- Lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs is required to maintain and repair the equipment previously listed.
- Lifting and working overhead is required to run pipe, conduit, repair lighting and to make repairs to the equipment.
