Job Summary

Dorman Products is seeking an Engineering student to join our Quality Engineering team for the summer of 2024. For 10 to 12 weeks you will assist in reviewing and testing of products, perform containment activities, communicate with engineers, and verify effectiveness of vendor corrective actions. Performance will be monitored to assure learning and development is happening and you will be expected to present project details to our leadership team at the conclusion of the internship. This is a hybrid role in our corporate location in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA) Monday through Thursday with the opportunity to WFH on Friday. If you are highly organized and proficient in understanding direction and communicating results, we want to hear from you! 

 

Primary Duties

  • Understand primary types of customer complaints
  • Assist in containment and determination of root cause for customer product satisfaction gaps
  • Work with QE’s in determining root cause for returned product
  • Participate in cross-functional teams investigating issues
  • Support product development and reverse engineering functions
  • Support local site quality and operations
  • Help to implement controls to prevent reoccurrence on nonconformances

Qualifications

  • Capable to learn how to perform product qualification testing
  • Ability to learn to use inspection tools and test equipment
  • Automotive product experience is a bonus
  • Ability to interpret Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel

Education / Experience

  • Actively pursuing a technical degree in an engineering-related discipline
