Job Summary

Summer internship working with the Product Ideation Team. This role will be 4 days in the office and 1 day virtual, based in Colmar, PA. Internship will begin in late May 2026 and continue for 10-12 weeks. The summer intern will be exposed to many cross-functional areas and assist with projects that will support Dorman’s product ideation team.

Primary Duties

Market & Idea Discovery

  • Support the Ideation team in analyzing big data to uncover new aftermarket growth opportunities.
  • Assist in reviewing and vetting ideas from multiple channels, including Dorman Rewards, social media, failed OE searches, lost sales opportunities, and Techline submissions.

Process Support & Collaboration

  • Work with the immediate team and SBU business partners to develop and streamline processes that accelerate “first-to-market” product launches.
  • Collaborate across functions to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Prototype & Testing Support

  • Help coordinate vehicle scheduling for try-on testing to ensure the timely execution of prototype evaluations.
  • Assist with OE sample handling, including delivery, cataloging, and facilitating sales of parts to optimize OE excess/obsolete inventory.

Qualifications

  • Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, resourceful, and work well in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Must be able to develop relationships and initiate, communicate, and take actions to resolve issues both internally and externally.

Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 20 pounds.

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen.  Noise level is usually moderate.

Education / Experience

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university undergraduate degree program, pursuing business or a related field
  • Prefer 3rd year students; rising juniors will be considered
