Job Summary

The SAP Functional Analyst will join a growing information technology team that is delivering innovative solutions to support Dorman Product’s significant business growth plans within the rapidly changing automotive industry.  We are looking for a professional with technical and solution design experience with SAP and SAP’s APO Planning module. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented and with a highly organized. He or she will work with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into functional requirements for developers and offer system expertise to identify root causes and solutions when issues occur. The Functional Analyst will collaborate with both business analysts and the IT technical team to ensure the overall solutions are well designed, planned, tested, and executed. He or she should have previous experience in the following functional areas: Demand, Supply, and Sales Planning and Reporting, MRP, TLanes, Realignments, CVCs, Macros, and APO configuration tables. This is a hybrid role in our corporate headquarters in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA) with the expectation to be onsite two to three days per week.  

Primary Duties

  • Provides specialist level functional and configuration knowledge in designing SAP solutions in the PP/APO modules of SAP
  • Understands the business processes and the systems used to support those processes.  Applies this knowledge to solve problems and support enhancement requests.
  • Lead as-is versus to-be process analysis and documentation efforts with cross-functional teams.
  • Document planning system processes, organizational and systems requirements for the to-be process.
  • Should have good knowledge of master data like material masters, Bills of Material (BOMs), Routes, Production Versions, Work Centers, and Engineering Change Management.
  • Good configuration knowledge of MRP, planned orders, production orders, confirmations, back flush, phantom assemblies, production order costing, period-end closing processes – WIP, variance calculation and settlement.
  • Should be able to configure make-to-stock and make-to-order scenarios integrating with WBS in addition to Sales Orders.
  • Provides alternatives based on best practices and SAP functionality
  • Develops functional specifications and works with technical resources to complete object development and testing
  • Documents final solution requirements and support detailed solution design, testing, training, and implementation efforts.
  • Develops functional specifications and works with BASIS and ABAP resources to complete object development and testing.

Qualifications

  • Proven functional analysis and system documentation skills and significant exposure to sound system implementation methodologies and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive and concise technical specs for development resources.
  • Ability to build relationships with both technical and business people in order to ensure IT is delivering sound solutions to meet business needs.
  • Ability to think strategically and analyze trends, situations, and industry specific data to identify business and technical solution opportunities.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent contributor with the ability to learn new business areas, tools and concepts quickly.            

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Held previous planning system functional analysis and technical support positions in a consumer products, manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Track record of growth in roles that focus on planning system support and technical specification development from business requirements for IT resources handling both incident and project level initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in process evaluation and improvement.
  • Background in larger enterprise planning solutions including SAP, SAP APO, GEP, Business Objects, Qlik or equivalent.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,700.00 to $138,000.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
