Job Summary
As Director, Finance Operations for Dorman, you will be a critical leader on the Dorman Operations Finance team, owning financial planning, reporting and analysis. This role will provide business support and insight to the Operations leadership team and will be responsible for the forecasting and decision support for the Operations teams. This includes multiple warehousing, distribution and manufacturing sites, in addition to supply chain and logistics functions. The Finance Director role reports to the VP of Finance, has one direct report, and will work closely with Corporate Leadership and FP&A teams. This is a hybrid role in our corporate headquarters in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA) with the expectation to be onsite two to three days per week.
Primary Duties
- Support the month end closing process by reviewing and understanding variances to PY, Budget and Forecast, and effectively communicates monthly results.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to support business requests to aide in decision making.
- Enhance and supplement existing reporting process leveraging Hyperion, Business Objects, Power BI, and Qlik.
- Develop and publish weekly KPI’s to the Light Duty & Heavy Duty business leaders.
- Partner with Operations leadership to establish and monitor financial and operations KPI’s and metrics within Operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, track progress and report results on key initiatives and projects in collaboration with functional leaders.
- Drive improvement in supplier-related components of working capital in areas such as defect recoveries, excess and obsolete inventory, and scrap.
- Develop quarterly forecasts, annual budgets for Dorman’s cost of sales and all operational expenses.
- Analyze and report monthly results including productivity, inflation/deflation and variance to budget/forecast/prior year.
- Ensure the accuracy of the Company’s inventories including the adequacy of physical count procedures and reliability of reported cycle count and physical inventory results.
- Provide leadership, coaching, direction and growth opportunities to your team, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the Company's established policies.
- Support Investor Relations and other Dorman Corporate activities.
- Support the Capital Expenditure Authorization process for Light Duty & Heavy Duty Operations.
- Provide strategic guidance on how to integrate future acquisitions in financial areas such as ERP system, accounting policy adoption, inventory valuation and costing, KPI reporting, and financial close.
- Establish functional objectives for areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
- Experience in Manufacturing / Distribution, including Standard Costing required
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills especially Excel
- Familiarity with Hyperion and/or SAP preferred
- Experience with Power BI/Business Objects preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Integrity and detail oriented
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent project management skills
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting roles including FP&A

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,900.00 to $243,000.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
