Job Summary

The Automation & Scheduling Analyst supports the design, execution, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise automation and job scheduling processes. This role operates with moderate independence and serves as a key contributor to ensuring automated workloads execute reliably, efficiently, and in alignment with enterprise standards.

The Analyst works closely with senior analysts, platform engineers, and application teams, primarily using ORSYP (Dollar Universe) as the enterprise scheduling platform. The role emphasizes analysis, problem resolution, operational stability, and continuous improvement of scheduling and automation practices.

Primary Duties

Automation & Scheduling Operations

  • Monitor enterprise job schedules and automated workflows in ORSYP (Dollar Universe) to ensure consistent and timely execution during assigned shift hours.
  • Analyze job failures, alerts, and performance issues; resolve incidents using documented procedures and independent troubleshooting where appropriate.
  • Perform job restarts, dependency validation, and root‑cause analysis for recurring failures.
  • Maintain and enhance schedules, calendars, and job definitions in accordance with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Proactively identify scheduling risks, inefficiencies, or optimization opportunities.

Analysis, Execution & Support

  • Independently design, configure, and modify job schedules and workflows to meet application and business requirements.
  • Validate job execution across lower environments and coordinate promotions to production.
  • Partner with application teams to onboard new automation workloads and ensure scheduling requirements are clearly defined.
  • Analyze incident trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in production support activities, including assigned on‑call rotations for weekend coverage.

Documentation, Standards & Governance

  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation for job schedules, dependencies, recovery procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Enforce naming conventions, scheduling standards, and governance guidelines.
  • Review existing schedules to identify obsolete jobs, reduce complexity, and improve reliability.
  • Contribute to the refinement of scheduling standards and operational processes.

Continuous Improvement & Development

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of ORSYP (Dollar Universe) architecture, job modeling, and enterprise scheduling patterns.
  • Apply automation best practices, including dependency management, event‑based triggers, error handling, and workload optimization.
  • Support junior team members through knowledge sharing and peer review.
  • Stay current with automation and scheduling trends and recommend enhancements where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Min 2 - 4 years of Hands‑on with enterprise scheduling or automation tools such as ORSYP (Dollar Universe), Control‑M, AutoSys, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting or designing production batch workflows in complex, 24x7 environments.
  • Familiarity with incident management, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation concepts (e.g., shell scripting, basic batch automation).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently during off‑hours shifts.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Solid understanding of IT operations, batch processing, and production support environments.
  • Demonstrated experience following and applying operational standards and procedures.
