Manufacturing Engineer II

Primary Duties

  • Develops and implements cost effective and improved processes for Lean production and tooling methodologies.
  • Creates and maintains process documentation for existing and new processes.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, layout and equipment. Understands and eliminates waste in production processes.
  • Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes by designing and conducting improvement trials; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Leads all phases of projects / ideas through planning, executing controlling and closing.



  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
  • Solidworks or equivalent CAD software
  • Understanding of manufacturing capabilities; i.e. machining, stamping, casting, injection molding, electronics assembly
  • Experience implementing Lean methodologies & tools, ideally in a high-mix low volume production
  • Experience with tool and fixture design
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Experience in a cross-functional team


Education and/or Experience

  • Technical degree (BS) in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial engineering with 4+ years of experience; or
  • Associate degree with 9+ years of experience
  • Advanced degree (MSME, MSIE) preferred
