Job Summary

As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the daily operations of production teams, ensuring that company objectives and quality standards are consistently met. This position requires strong leadership skills to manage manufacturing staff effectively and maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. This role will supervise a hybrid shift of 2nd/3rd shift.

Primary Duties

  • Direct and oversee production operations including shearing, punching, forging, tempering, peening, assembly, and painting of automotive leaf springs, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and production standards. Manage daily workforce scheduling and resource allocation to meet production targets efficiently.
  • Develop and implement training programs covering job tasks, safety protocols, and equipment operation to enhance employee skills and workplace safety. Monitor work in progress and finished goods to maintain quality compliance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain accurate employee records for attendance, performance, and training, and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and internal controls. Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting and minor repairs to reduce downtime.
  • Lead performance management by conducting evaluations, resolving employee concerns, and recommending promotions, transfers, or corrective actions as appropriate. Prepare reports following workplace incidents to support investigations and preventive action plans.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to align production objectives, communicate updates, and promote a culture of collaboration, safety, and accountability. Oversee housekeeping and security practices to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to accurately read and interpret a variety of documents including safety rules, operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and company procedures to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Effective written communication skills for preparing routine reports, correspondence, and documentation necessary for supervisory and production activities.
  • Excellent verbal communication capabilities to confidently address groups of employees or stakeholders, facilitating clear instruction and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; and comfortable working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and graph interpretation as required for production calculations and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve practical challenges encountered in production environments, adapting to varying and sometimes non-standardized situations.
  • Capability to understand and follow complex instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats, ensuring efficient task execution and compliance with processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with aptitude for training, motivating, and managing diverse teams to achieve high performance standards.
  • Commitment to workplace safety practices and a proactive attitude towards identifying and mitigating risks.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required to provide foundational knowledge for supervisory responsibilities.
  • One to three months of related work experience and/or training in manufacturing or production environments is preferred to support hands-on operational understanding.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered to demonstrate the competence and readiness for the supervisory role.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or team coordination position within industrial or manufacturing settings is advantageous

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $62,600.00 to $89,800.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
