The Zone Manager (ZM) is a sales leadership position within Dorman that oversees a team of Key Account Managers (KAM’s), Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Area Sales Representatives (ASRs). The KAMs and ASMs have direct responsibility of Dorman product sales to mid-sized traditional customers, and the ASRs are responsible for omni-channel pull through support to all Dorman customers within a geographic region.


The Zone Manager will cover the Central Region (Michigan to Florida and over to Texas). The ideal candidate will be located, or willing to relocate to reside in the central region. 


Primary Duties: 

  • Maximize sales and profitability with mid-sized traditional accounts and coordinate omni channel support within the assigned geography.
  • Active role in onboarding contributors and developing contributors for future opportunities within Dorman.
  • Maintain relationships and a presence with the top assigned customers and attend major customer and industry events.
  • Familiar with data analysis and fact-based selling techniques to deploy throughout their team to optimize customer inventories and identify opportunities.
  • Coordinate event representation, changeovers, technical training, store/technician visits, complaint/conflict resolution, promotional awareness and more across a large geography.
  • Communicate any opportunities or threats in addition to new product ideas and normal reporting activity.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • High level of competency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with CRM/Salesforce
  • Self-starter that thrives in a remote office environment
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel 40% or more of the time, including weekend travel as needed
  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen.  Noise level is usually moderate.



  • Bachelor's degree in business, automotive technology or a related field
  • 5+ years of applicable experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience obtained through direct people management or indirect management of people through cross functional teams / projects
