Dorman Products is seeking a Compensation Director to manage the planning, implementation and administration of all global base salary and variable/deferred incentive compensation programs and policies. In this newly created position for Dorman, you will partner with our VP of HR to ensure compensation programs, policies and procedures are responsive to Dorman’s strategic objectives and competitive practices. You will participate in the development of and lead the implementation of new compensation programs and administer day-to-day activities related to stock administration, qualified benefit plans and deferred compensation plans. If you have 5+ years of increasing responsibility in Compensation and have a desire to build compensation programs for a successful, well-established organization, we want you on our team!

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Manages and administers global compensation plans and programs (pay ranges, annual salary review process, annual variable pay process) to align with and support the Dorman business strategy and compensation philosophy
  • Participates in and leverages compensation surveys to ensure compensation ranges and structures are competitive; identifies trends and offers creative recommendations to support engagement and retention strategies
  • Delivers competitive analysis and financial impact modeling for annual merit increase budgets, incentive design changes, and demographic reviews
  • Conducts job analysis to determine appropriate salary level according to compensation guidelines and policies for all new and existing roles; ensures job descriptions for roles accurately reflect content of the role; partners with HRIS administrator to ensure job titles, levels and profiles are set up in the HRIS
  • Collaborates and advises on proposed pay and job changes, including evaluating new and revised jobs and/or career paths
  • Serves as Dorman’s internal and external point-of-contact for qualified benefit plans (401k, Profit Sharing, and ESPP) and deferred compensation plans.
  • Prepare equity grants for Compensation Committee approval
  • Maintains equity data in equity administration system
  • Support employees and business partners with equity related questions and requests
  • Implement and improve processes for day-to-day operations related to stock administration
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional project teams for key compensation initiatives, such as career pathing, training, and the design of new or revised compensation programs
  • Produces ad hoc analyses with quick turnarounds based on business requests

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance or related field; Advanced degree preferred
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) credential preferred
  • 10+ years related experience; 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in Compensation, including time with a publicly traded company
  • At least 1 year experience in stock administration; understanding of equity plans and various equity types
  • Experience working directly with major third-party equity software systems and brokerage firms preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under tight time constraints, handle sensitive date and multi-task so that deadlines can be met
  • Strong knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
