Enterprise Director of Operational Excellence

The Enterprise Director of Operational Excellence drives improvement in customer satisfaction and internal efficiencies and effectiveness through the design and implementation of enhanced operational processes, operational support systems and programs, and facility improvements and automation. Plays a key role in determining the vision, business case development, and leading the implementation of capital projects, automation, and network structure.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Manage projects related to Enterprise Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in determining National Contract terms and conditions for National Providers of Distribution Center support services, shipping supplies, equipment leases, etc. Supervise contract compliance and satisfaction of terms as necessary.
  • Manage the Enterprise Operational Excellence team, providing appropriate assignments, providing leadership and guidance, coordinating team efforts where necessary, and developing diversity and flexibility in the team’s skillsets
  • Provide project management of major Capital Projects, including participation in design, vendor selection and relationship support, cost justification, and implementation
  • Manage activities associated with moving, building, or closing facilities 
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators tracking productivity, cost justification, and process improvement projects
  • Work with the HQ and IT team to further enhance system capabilities related to Warehouse Management Systems, Productivity Reporting, and provide continuity of support for field operations.
  • Work with the Enterprise Operational Excellence team to coordinate focus, efforts, and activity areas.  In addition, work to educate this group on operational best practices, seeking to maintain consistency across the company’s distribution centers.

 

Qualifcations/Experience/Education:

  • Requires a BS degree in Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years in Operations, Supply Chain or Continuous Improvement
  • Experience leading a corporate function in process improvement, process re-engineering, and/or continuous improvement
  • Experience and exposure in implementing a Standard Operating Framework (SOF)
  • Experience successfully deploying enterprise process initiatives and/or training programs
  • LEAN certification/Six Sigma training or comparable credentials
  • Demonstrated successful project management capabilities in a LEAN/CI environment, measured through KPI metrics and results
  • Professional communication skills and proven leadership capabilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and execute assigned projects
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs
  • Previous SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, SharePoint preferred
  • Travel up to 80%
