Digital Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

The Digital Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is a position within Dorman Products that requires specialized training in the use of digital marketing tactics to execute the company’s digital communications plans and improve digital customer engagement with a keen focus on social media and digital reporting. The Digital Marketing & Social Media Coordinator leads the development and execution of the organic social media content calendars in alignment with key brand and product priorities. In addition, the Digital Marketing & Social Media Coordinator supports the Manager, Marketing Communications in executing digital campaigns, across owned (website, email, social) and paid channels.  

 

Digital & Social Media Execution

  • Partners with Manager, Marketing Communications to develop and execute a unique social media strategy by platform and supports daily social media content development, posting, and analytics across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn), partnering with creative and cross-functional team members (Brand & HR) to develop and maintain monthly calendar, brief creative assets, and manage projects through to completion. This includes occasional on-site travel to key industry events to capture assets (< 10%).
  • Manages and secures ongoing outreach to automotive industry macro and micro influencers, including automotive service technicians, automotive DIY-ers, automotive enthusiasts, adjacent brand partnerships and key customer accounts. Facilitates product sample requests and garners testimonials, imagery, and video content for future posts.
  • Facilitates online conversations with customers and responds to queries through social media and routes posts to Customer Service to be addressed.
  • Supports email marketing program by maintaining customer lists and developing sends using WYSIWYG editor in MailChimp ESP
  • Aids in Q/A & UAT for new website enhancement releases, email, and social media posts
  • Briefs digital marketing assets, routes for approval to appropriate stakeholders, and ensures coordination to campaign development teams, both agency & internal
  • Stays up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness

 

Digital Reporting

  • Completes monthly digital marketing dashboards, covering key performance indicators across eCommerce sales, website functionality, Amazon advertising, email marketing, and social media
  • Monitors competitor digital activity across entire landscape: search, social, website, and email and makes recommendations where appropriate

 

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Business or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, public relations or relevant internship experience; agency experience (full time or internship) a plus
  • Passion for creating automotive content and building an automotive online community
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized  
  • Excellent copywriting skills; a keen eye in ideating and crafting creative content (text, image, video) that delivers engagement
  • Experience with digital analytics platforms, ranging from native in-platform social media analytics interfaces to Google Analytics
