Business Insights Manager - Data Analytics

As a Business Insights Manager at Dorman you will drive revenue growth by gathering and analyzing information needed to drive mutual growth for Dorman and our Customers.  You’ll be responsible for aiding in new product distribution (speed to market), opportunity gap analysis on Dorman’s full line of products, and converting complex data sets into strategic recommendations that align with key performance measures for Dorman and our Customers.   This is a highly visible role that requires a creative, solutions-oriented individual that deals well with ambiguity and is comfortable making recommendations based on knowledge and command of information.  A successful Business Insights Manager will have excellent analytical/technical skills along with strong communication and general leadership capabilities.


•             Continually manage and analyze (sales) productivity and performance of Dorman’s product line with assigned customer(s)/geography

•             Optimize assortment and distribution strategy based on movement trends, market analysis, product life cycle and new product expansion

•             Collaborate closely with Customers, Sales, and other key Internal Stakeholders on leveraging data to make fact-based recommendations that maximizes customers’ return on inventory investment with Dorman

•             Stay current with new business trends and tools needed to innovate within role to continually improve the customer/supplier relationship

•             Develop turn-key reporting on key performance indicators needed to keep stakeholder group aligned with progress on key initiatives, goals and aligned measures

•             Perform ROI analysis needed to support product expansion/contraction, price/promotion evaluation and effectiveness, competitive threat mitigation, and other initiatives as required

•             Design and articulate statistical hypothesis models, challenges and tradeoffs

•             Exposure to Big Data technology stacks and be able to define business problems leveraging pattern detection

•             Design statistical hypothesis and models

•             Other duties as assigned


•             Working knowledge of a P&L with ability to impact

•             Experience with product groups in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment preferred

•             Experience with Fast Moving Product Goods (FMPG) preferred

•             Experience with POS analysis and inventory rationalization

•             Strong track record of demonstrated independent decisions that impact costs, sales rates and inventory levels with both internal and external customers

•             Working knowledge of forecasting (development and management)

•             Experience working in a cross-functional team environment and strong interpersonal skills

•             Proficient in MS Office.

•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•             Strong analytical skills (Financial, Process and Inventory) and problem-solving skills

•             Travel Requirements: 15% of the time, weekends occasionally  

•             Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 20 pounds.

•             Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen.  Noise level is usually moderate.


•             Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university with a specialty in Business preferred; or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in sales, operations, or supply chain profession with similar duties; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•             MBA a plus.
