Job Summary

Dorman is looking for a junior AI Automation Developer to help design and build technology automations that improve business efficiency using Microsoft Power Automate and related Power Platform tools. This is a hands-on, entry-level role that blends technical development with business analysis. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and collaborating with non-technical users to make their day-to-day work easier. You’ll work under the guidance of senior team members to develop, test, and deploy automations that eliminate manual tasks and streamline business processes. This is a hybrid role in our corporate headquarters in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA) with the expectation to be onsite roughly 2 to 3 days per week. Preference will be given to local talent.
 

Primary Duties

Automation Development & Support:

  • Assist in designing and building automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • Maintain and update existing automations to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Help integrate Power Automate with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, etc.).
  • Document solutions and follow established standards for version control and deployment.

Business & Process Analysis:

  • Work with business users to understand processes and identify automation opportunities.
  • Translate user needs into simple functional requirements and help design practical solutions.
  • Participate in testing and user validation to ensure automations meet business needs.

Collaboration & Learning:

  • Collaborate with IT, data, and business teams to ensure automations align with data and security policies.
  • Learn and apply best practices in automation, process improvement, and digital transformation.
  • Continuously develop technical skills through training, mentorship, and project experience.
     

Qualifications

Required:

  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, or other workflow/automation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with curiosity about how things work.
  • Comfortable working with non-technical users to understand business processes and pain points.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of data and integration concepts (e.g., JSON, APIs).
  • Some experience with Power BI, scripting (VBA, Python), or process mapping is a plus.
  • Interest in automation, digital transformation, or business process improvement.
     

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on project or internship experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools preferred

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000.00 to $109,200.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
